Our Story
Born from a shared passion for tabletop gaming and collecting, we are an online marketplace where enthusiasts can buy and sell both new and used board games.
Dicemates is based in Phoenix, Arizona, where the two founders, Casey Tickes and Cassidy Trowbridge, turned their vision into reality.
We both grew up enjoying board games with friends and family and have loved watching our hobby explode in popularity. However, this has led to overflowing shelves of more games than we could possibly play, and more than a few duplicates. If only there was a way to sell some of our lesser played games in order to fund all those new Kickstarters!
We observed issues with existing solutions, including:
- General marketplaces didn't allow for fellow gamers to find our listings among vacuum cleaners and Ikea furniture
- High fees and commissions cut into recuperating our initial investment
- Security features and vendor reputation were important to us, we didn't want to haggle over direct messages or send un-refundable payments through PayPay
We created Dicemates.com as more than just a marketplace; it's a tool for the board game community and a support system for the local game stores that we have all spent so much time frequenting.
